Coverage/Yield

Asphalt Quantities Required to Seal a Road

The approximate coverage of the Insitu-Asphalt final mix is dependant on a number of factors including the quality of the surface or base to be sealed. The table below represents yields that can be realistically expected where the excess material is not required to make up for imperfections in the base and where suitable supervision ensures that wasteage is minimised.

Dependent on the smoothness of the road base surface, 50 Kg of final asphalt mix can yield +/-1 m2 at 25 mm final compacted thickness. Where uneven or coarse bases are encountered, additional Insitu-Asphalt should be allowed for.
